Atlantis Visit

Question for everyone! We are sailing to the Bahamas via Carnival in August. We want to go to the Atlantis Hotel. We don't want to take an excursion, just want to walk in, walk around, maybe have a cocktail, etc. Is it possible to do that or do you have to be a guest or booked on an excursion? If so, is there a fee to walk in and walk around? Sounds like a strange question but we don't want to participate in an excursion. Just a walk in visit, etc.

Free to walk in.... Go to the casino or any of the many restaurants.

You can take a taxi, they will drop you at the front door.

The water taxi will drop you at the dock, maybe a five minute or less walk.

If you are adventurous you can walk there over the bridge (I never tried that)

The water taxi gives you a brief harbor tour, last time I did it it was within $1 of the price of the land taxi (van)

Larry ...thank you so much! I felt this was possible but had to be certain as there are several of us just wanting to visit the hotel. I love the idea of the water taxi and that just might be what we decide to do. Your the best!

The information given is only 1/2 right. You CANNOT just walk in the door and walk around without a day pass of some sort. Adults are allowed access to the casino, but this does not allow any other access to the grounds, digs or anything else. Security is very strict and will stop you at the entrance. You can shop in the old towers using the coral tower entrance, This is just a handful of the older shops (beach/coral) but not the Royal, Cove or Reef.

You can access the restaurants and shops in the marina village (which is outside the hotel grounds), but cannot eat/drink on the grounds. Most indoor restaurants are not open during the daytime, so you can't eat or have a drink at any of those. It's very restricted these days.

If you want dinner at any of the restaurants, you'll need reservations for most.

Yes if you want to use the facilities like the pools or walk through The Digs you have to pay. The last time I was there I was able to access a lot of the resturants. Some rather expensive some not.

If you just want to walk around and have a cocktail there is enough to see. If you want to spend the day in and around the water facilities it is not free.

To clarify, you can't walk around the grounds at all without a pass. During the day, you can't access anything except the casino (and the bar) without a pass. Security stops you at the door unless you are heading to the casino.. You can't just wander around the lobby. As for the restaurants, most are closed for lunch except for those outside on the grounds. A few at the marina are open for lunch. Marina village is open to the public, but it's not part of the Atlantis hotel.

Do you just catch this outside the boat? Our boat is there overnight so time isn't overly important, plus I heard they don't open the slides until 10:30 or so.
