marinaro44 Posted May 31, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Shower curtains are a non-issue. If there were glass doors you would keep banging the doors with your elbow. And, no matter how a door would be configured, when opening it would hit either the sink, toilet, or bathroom door.

In everything in life there are compromises and a shower curtain does not register as an issue. We will be setting sail on the Journey on Saturday from Athens and are much looking forward to being back on board after our February cruise. Hope all is well with you. 42N82 Posted May 31, 2016 #28 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Another question came to mind.... Are the published times in the various ports on the website pretty accurate generally? If the time is posted until 10:00 for example, does that mean last tender at 10, or that you need to be on the ship by 10? I ask only because I am trying to make some plans on where to view a sunset from that hits at about 8:40pm and the website shows 10:00 as the departure time. This will be in Santorini for those that may have been. Thinking that we won't be able to do the sunset at Oia like many do because from sunset to published departure time is only about 1:20 and taxi rides would need to happen. Or, maybe they will position the ship for a nice sunset view? Anyone have Santorini experience with AZ that might have an idea here? We did a cruise to Santorini a couple of years ago but got off in Santorini and stayed there a week. Saw many spectacular sunsets from Fira and Oia! Find a bar anywhere along the caldera and you will have a great sunset. Just realize that you may need to secure a table early for the best view. We found a lovely bar/restaurant just around the bend from the tram. Go to the right on the path that comes out to the station. Other option is to go down Gold Street - where all the shops are. There are restaurants and bars along there as well. The ships all sail out of the caldera where they are anchored just as the sun sets so you will see it regardless. What we learned in our time on Santorini is that they have a great bus system and it is a short walk from the tram/gondola station. From the station it is about a two block walk and buses run to Oia and elsewhere on a regular schedule. Cabs are not necessary. Buses are clean, comfortable and cheap. Funny story was that we took a cab from tram to our hotel. We had to walk two blocks down the hill to catch the cab. We then road two blocks back up to our hotel. We could have taken a right onto Gold street out of the tram station and walked less than two blocks to our hotel.

Axita1 Posted June 6, 2016 #30 Share Posted June 6, 2016 Hi Grilljockey, we are on the same cruise departing mid June. We have a 12 year old son. I read there's nothing much for kids to do on this cruise unfortunately. It's our first trip on Azamara too, actually first time on a cruise ever. Hopefully we'll all have a good time. Our luggage tags arrived last week by mail. We checked in online. We also signed up for the mingle & something reception.
