St. Kitts and Grenada - rental cars

Has anybody out there ever rented a car for the day on either of these islands? If so, how was it? Able to get cars near where the ship docks? Easy to navigate the roads?

 

We are in St. Kitts from 7-3; would a rental car place be open that early?

 

We have discovered that we like the freedom of having a car and most islands have been pretty easy (St. Thomas, Aruba, St. Maarten). We did find Curacao to be a little challenging.

Have been to both islands, but never rented a car. On St. Kitts, we went to a nice private beach by launch, and on Grenada, we hired a taxi for the day for an island tour (waterfalls, nutmeg factory, etc.). Grenada is very hilly with twisty-windy roads. On both islands, the driving is on the left side.
