Cozumel excursions with a 2 year old (27 mo)

Will be going to Cozumel in September and I'm trying to do some research on different excursions that would fit our family. I have an extremely busy, active, and curious 2 year old boy that loves to run around, also loves water. We're looking for places that he would enjoy. Any recommendations? So far I've found: Fashion island, Playa Mia, Paradise Beach, and Mr. Sanchos.

From what I read Playa Mia sounds fitting but would love personal reviews and reviews other places we should maybe look into.

I have 3.5 year olds and we are leaning towards Playa Mia in September. My husband and I went there 10 years ago on our honeymoon and really enjoyed ourselves. The splash park is our main reason for going back, along with the beach and nice pool.

You might want to read Mitzugirl's reviews. There is one beach that she found very difficult to walk around in because of the way the sand sank, which would be tough with a toddler.

You planning on purchasing the package that includes the transportation? I saw the cab fare there would be around $17 but not sure how that works since we don't have a car seat.

Yes. Usually the provided transportation to places like this is by bus. Most busses are compartmentalized, making them far safer in terms of not having car seats and seat belts. We aren't taking car seats on the cruise, so we've tried to book excursions that use busses...though our Grand Cayman one will be a risk that we haven't exactly decided how to handle yet.

Plus, I'd rather just pay everything up front so we can enjoy the day instead of dealing with cabs.
