Hello,

We are a spanish married couple, 35yo, and we are going to be in our first Atlantis crusie this summer. Barcelona to Athens (August).

We have cruised a lot in the last years, but we will love to hear some experiences, tips and everything that expert Atlantis cruises can tell to us.

The MEd Atlantis cruises are more port intensive, so... it affect to the activities on board. I mean, will be less activities than in other Atlantis cruises.

We also want to know about the clothes. On one hand about the typical theme parties that they use to have. On the other hand about the dress code.

All your tips will be great for us. Thank you!!!

You will have the time of your life!

There will be many theme parties and it is up to you how much to participate and dress for the occasion.

Some we dress up and some we just go and watch.

Make sure you have signed up for e-mail notifications from Atlantis, they will give you a detailed "cruise guide" with all the information you will need.

Have a great cruise!

The non-Atlantis cruise staff will have all the regular activities that you would find on a non chartered sailing during the day. Atlantis books the guest entertainers and evening DJ at the "themed" dance parties up on deck starting around 11PM. On some nights the cruise line puts on it's own Broadway style review show. Atlantis also has games shows like the "Dating game" for singles and "Newlywed game" for couples plus other activities like Drag bingo or Karaoke night. Usually when the ship is in port there are limited activities since most people are on tours but you'd find that on any cruise. On sea days and in the evening there will be plenty to do...don't worry you won't be bored. Clothing...there is no dress codes, no formal nights, no jackets or ties. You can even wear shorts and tank top in the dining room at night; but most people do dress nicely. The only exception is in the upscale specialty restaurants where Atlantis request you wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. On two nights there is usually a special "singles" night in one section of the dining room and one for "couples only." You change tables and seats after each course which give you the opportunities to meet new people over the course of a meal. It's so much fun. Anyway, Atlantis will email you a list on nightly "themed" parties about two weeks before departure...nothing earlier. Dressing up in costume is optional; however, majority of people do. They also have "Bears and Cubs" and the "Lure of Leather" almost every night in one of the lounges if that's your style. The are two usually two "themed" afternoon T-Dances up around the pool between 4-7PM....usually 70's disco and Military dog tag and maybe a swimsuit/tropical themed dance. Again, Atantis will emial you a full line up of parties and entertainment about two weeks....rarely earlier because entertainment is always subject to change. These cruises are amazing. Nothing like the mainstream cruises.

  • 2 weeks later...

We've done 2 Atlantis cruises and each one was a blast. The tea dances in the afternoon are so much fun. You can stand on the deck above and just cruise at the sites below! The white party on the deck was a lot of fun too. Everyone dressed in all white and you saw everything from just white jock straps to kilts. The staff on the ships "LOVES" it when charted parties like this come on -board. We know how to have fun and we spend for it.

By the same token, we had a lot of quite time for ourselves too. Nice quite dinners and plenty of good chats. We did excursions too and it can be a hoot with the right crowds. Do as much or as little as you would like!
