I think it depends on why/how you received a discount and what the terms or conditions were of that discount.

For instance, I booked my August cruise under a casino rate at a discounted price. That casino rate is no longer available. Should I choose to upgrade my cabin now, I know I'm not eligible for that same casino rate. Nor should I expect to receive it.

On Celebrity, our "discount" included 2 choices of extras for the price of 1 (so both drink package and OBC). Now, they are not offering that deal. Should I upgrade, I would have to do so under the current deal and so would lose one of my extras.

Many discounts are "limited time only" or "only apply to certain categories".

Best to always read the fine print.

the offer is 15% off your next cruise, we paid full price $1000 per pass which they gave $150 off, two days prior to cruise they called spouse and talk her in to upgrade $1600 per pass. i thought they should honor the 15% off cruise price, they refused. just wanted to see if i am out of line

Upgrades offered via telephone like that are already discounted. I would not expect that you would be able to stack two discounts - the discounted upgrade plus the additional 15%.

No, agree with the below

But, if you upgraded yourself then, yes, the 15% should apply. We've done this.

i see your point but i could have booked the upgrade cheaper originally, and like what the stated is 15% off your next cruise, to me that means if i pay 1600 for fare i should recv 240

Hard to say without knowing what your upgrade was back when you booked your original cabin. If it was 2,000 the 15% would have given you $300 off. Instead they are really offering you 20% off, so they would give you 15% off of the 20%.

There are too many variables to know for sure
