DreaminofOz Posted June 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2016 I had planned to book this excursion directly with the vendor, but it was sold out so I had to book through Carnival since my dad really wanted to go on this tour. On our trip last week, the cruise director mentioned the excursion price match during one of her talks. So I went ahead and submitted a request at the excursion desk onboard once we got back from the tour. It was granted-so I got a $110 credit for our two tickets :) Thought I would share on here in case anyone else booked this tour directly with Carnival. I did not have a brochure to give them for the price match, but I gave them the vendor's web address, so they saw it was $169 vs Carnival's $220 price. The web address I gave was alaskacrabtourdotcom (replace the word dot with an actual dot since we cannot post site addresses on here).
trophy_23 Posted June 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Wow that seems high. We booked direct to but I think HAL was only $5, or maybe $10 more per person at that point.
jimsig Posted June 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2016 NCL charges $229 per adult for this excursion. That's why I booked it on our own.

Did you have time to explore Ketchikan after? Anyone else with experience having carnival price match this? thanks
trophy_23 Posted June 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2016 You should have plenty of time to explore Ketchikan... It is all right there. The ships dock right next to the Aleutian Ballad, but then again who knows now that they will be doing some dock repair :P
