I read somewhere on the board thay someone brought beer on the ship. Can you? Also do you know how much wine/pop they allow you to bring on?

Thanks,

If they brought beer on, they smuggled it on... it's not allowed. As for wine and soda, they allow a "reasonable" amount... guess it depends on the mood of the person that day to decide what is reasonable... Good luck!

We have taken as many as 8 bottles of wine/champagne on with no problem. I have seen other poster say they have taken a case of pop on. Beer and liquor could be confiscated - but some people put it in their checked bags and seem to have so trouble getting it on board.

Allowed, I don't know. I do know that we brought 1 case of beer, 1 bottled pre-mix margaritas, one bottle Vodka, 12 20oz cokes, 6 20oz sprites, and 1 case of bottled water all checked in a bag with no problem. On top of this we still had a $770 S&S bill mostly being foo foo drinks, wine, dinner drinks, etc.

Also, our room steward was great with keeping our collapsable ice chest filled with ice and allowing us to remove items from the stocked mini fridge in order to accomodate our drinks.

Bringing the above on board probably saved us around $400 to $500 dollars in S&S charges. Damn, then I had to come home and sober up until my next cruise.

We each had two bottles of wine in our carry-on bags, along with 2- 6 packs of 24oz bottles of Diet Pepsi when we were on the Conquest last week. Not a problem.

How did these "people" get them (beer, soft drinks) on board...? Are they in checked bags or not? We are not flying in but are driving to our port, our youngest son is diabetic and we would like to bring a small cooler on board. Is this allowed? Please advise...less than 60 days til we sail!!!! I can't wait!!!

Hubby and I just cruised on Glory last week and we filled a rolling luggage bag with 2 2-liters of pepsi, a 12 pk. of coke and and 18 pk. of Bud light, which we carried on (heard about luggage handling on another thread). When it went through the scanner at security, the woman asked us what was in all the cans (I'm thinking, BUSTED!). We told her it was all Pepsi because we hate Coke products. She rolled her eyes but let it go. When we came back on the ship from Cozumel, we brought on more soda and a 12 pk. of Bud, but we put the beer cans in the empty Coke container from first round of smuggling and duct taped the case and put in backpack. When they checked our stuff getting back on, they saw a 12 pk. of coke and a 2 liter of Pepsi, and of course Dorito's. No problems there. However I did get the impression they would have investigated if there wasn't a line behind us. It's worth a shot. We only spent $50 on drinks on the ship and that was only while at the casino. Have fun!!!

There have been statements from some that brought large wheeled coolers onboard. Lots of people brought smaller collapsible coolers.

You are allowed to bring a "reasonable" number of soft drinks and wine ( who knows the definition of "reasonable"). Beer or alcohol would be packed well inside checked luggage. I found large size storage bags that could be used.

Last fall I took a case of beer, half gallon of bourbon and two bottles of rum with me. I am going to do the same thing tomorrow. Just keep it in your checked luggage they will never know. It helps to give your luggage porter a nice tip at check in. If you give the room steward a little extra they will keep your beer iced down for you. Also we took a case of cokes with us through security and no one said anything.

I had 12 Pepsi's, 12 Cokes and 12 Sprites in 1 checked bag and two 1/2 gallon plastic bottles of Seagram's Seven in another. All made it through no problem. I use fluorescent zip ties to lock my luggage.

Fluorescent zip ties - check! Now I'll know which pc of luggage I need to "accidentally" bring to my room first!! I heard the Seagram's 7 callin' my name ;)
