I am a brand new cruiser. I just made a list of all the stuff I want to buy for the room before we get on board!!! lol The stewart will know we are first timer's based on my list. :) Anyway please tell me your favorite and worst excursions in the Bahamas. Our ship is stopping at Nassua, Half Moon Cay, and Grand Turk. We only have excursions for Nassua right now, and they are super expensive. So before I spend money on something we won't like I figured I would get y'alls advice!!! :D:rolleyes:;)

We did blue lagoon island in Nassau and it was just okay. I felt it cost a lot for what it was. We just did the island and did not swim with the Dolphins. We were first time cruisers and getting off in the port without an excursion booked was very overwhelming.

We bought a day pass to British Colonial Holton. $60 but includes $40 towards food and drink. Close enough to walk from Port in Nassau. Use of pool and beach with a view of the ships. We even walkex up to John Watlings to buy rum . Afterwards walk through the straw market on way back to ship.

Welcome to Cruise Critic and cruising. :-)

We've done the British Colonial before, but lately, we just walk a little further to Junkanoo Beach. It is a free public beach. There are chair and umbrella rentals available and place to buy food and drinks.

Half Moon Cay, you are right at the beach when you get off the tender.

Grand Turk, you are also right at the beach and there is a large, free pool at Margaritaville.

Your Cabin Steward will not make any judgements. :D

We have done quite a few mid-priced excursions in Nassau.

One is a day pass at the Melia on Cable Beach.

Another is Ardastra Gardens and Zoo.

There are lots of excursions in Nassau which we have done on our own like going to the British Colonial Hilton for brunch, going to the Pirate Museum, and going to Atlantis casino and Marina Village.

In Nassau, we plan an excursion and don't stay around the pier and the annoying vendors. We get a van taxi near the pier and go to a fun place like Cable Beach which has several good resorts.
