On a recent cruise aboard aurora we were allocated a cabin on A deck. this cabin and several others were completely unsuitable to anybody has normal hearing. the cabins A276, A 277 and A282 are directly below the Horizon restaurant Galley and suffer from severe Noise and Vibrations from machinery in the galley above, from 5:30 in the morning until early hours the following morning. after several people complained the noise was reduced after 11:30 but was still there. Just a warning to others booking on aurora.

We have just been allocated A258 for our cruise on 24th June - but its only a 7 day and out of that we will be up early on at least 4 of these days for 'port' days. I hope its not too noisy - can you complain and get moved?

I would not think you could. Usually there is a sign up in reception saying the ship is sailing full.

The same goes for Oriana....we were in A263 on our recent cruise which was very noisy from above late at night and again from 5.30 am......it also had the stewards cupboard next door out of which he pulled his trolley at 7.15 each morning bumping it over a ridge which rattled loudly....it was one of the 'sideways on' inside cabins and only had a tiny double wardrobe totally inadequate for the five week cruise we were doing with only about 30 inches of hanging rail......however we were on a saver fare so did take a gamble I suppose.....we just stuck the ear plugs in which lessened (but not obliterated )the noise and got on with it, making up the lost sleep on sunbeds during the day!!!:)

Definitely one to avoid!
