After coming in we had told RoShan we would probably not need snacks today because we would be gone most of the day and had plenty of treats on the island.

We came in and washed up for dinner. My husband and I went to dinner at Magenta while the boys went to the Buffet.

After dinner we went to the spa while the boys watched a movie in the room. Suites are entitled to free movies available on demand on the tv. Parental controls are available if needed.

The boys watched three or four movies during our 8 days and we watch a couple all together.

It was $19.99 for everything. Didn't have to pay the cost per item. You just had to give them a count for record keeping and making sure you received everything back. Each piece came back with a little yellow numbered sticker inside I guess this is how they separate them back out to customers.

Many thanks Lisalk12 for all the facts, comments and photos! I've really enjoyed them. My family of 4 are going on the same Gem itinerary leaving on July 16. Slight difference in ages - our two daughters are both adults, so that brings a great new dimension to UBP [emoji482][emoji482]! I booked us a cabana on GSC too, and your comments confirm my thinking that it was a good choice. Thanks again for all of your informative stuff!

I'm also glad that you confirmed the cabana. There's 11 in our group so I had to get two smaller cabanas, but that's ok. On the laundry did you get the deal because you had the suite.

Glad you posted the food, now I know what not o order, lol

Slept in Day 6. We went up to play checkers at the large board outside of deck 13.

Chess is on the other side of the ship. It looked like we had company with the Carnival Fantasy in port also.

All over the ship different groups were running drills.

We went for lunch at Cagney's. This time we asked if the boys might be able to order something off the kids menu. They really had missed Mac and Cheese. So they called down to the main dinning room and presto -

Usually we always have plans when we are in port. But we really thought it would be rainy and last time we were in Nassau we went to the Blue Lagoon and loved it until it poured!

With bad weather predicted we just didn't want to take the chance and fork over a large amount of money again. So we went into town for a walk. I wanted to walk to the Hilton and see if we could get a day pass but looked off in the distance and saw this coming.

So we hurried back showed our ID's (make sure you have some type of picture ID with you. It was check each time we were leaving a port area) and ship cards to get past port security. We snapped this photo to prove we were here.

About the time we walked on board we were hit with intense fog and rain.

Day 7 sea day

We met our CC group for a slot pull in the Casino at 10:30. As a group we each gave $20. $18 of it went into the Wheel of Fortune machine. The other $2 went into a side pot. Then we each took turns hitting the $3 max bet button. Everyone had 6 turns. If you won money on your pull it would be written by your name. The one person with the most money won gets the side pot. We also got bottles of wine (I believe from the cruise line) for the 2nd and 3rd runner up. We had money still in the machine at the end of the turns and cashed it out and divided it up between each person. Not a big winner (I think we each got around $17 back) but so much fun and well worth the few bucks that we paid.

After the slot pull we went on a cabin crawl and went to a balcony room, mini suite, our 2 bedroom, penthouse suite, and finally ended up in an owners suite. This was an amazing way to see other categories of rooms! At our final stop George & Dawn (our M&G, slot pull, and cabin crawl coordinators) had mimosas and piña coladas for us. Their room was decked out in pastries and hors d'oeuvres set up by Roshan. It was great getting to sit and find out how everyone's trip was going.

We met the boys for lunch at Cagney's then they went to play basketball.

We decided to go try our hand at Deal or No Deal. We didn't get the chance to pick a case but my husband did get a free photo. So glad we have been taking all those photos at dinner!

We went to the photo gallery and looked up our room. The photos now come up on a computer screen. Then you go to your assigned binder and the photo is inside.

We went back up and played bingo ... Still no winner.

We went to the Latitudes gathering that started at 5:30. They had cheese and wine during a presentation about Cruise Next coupons. We still have three to use so we passed this time.

This evening I started not feeling quite right. Wasn't sure it I had got ahold of something I shouldn't of ate/drank (mixers for drinks sometimes get me in trouble) or it could of been motion sickness. But whatever it was dinner was not in the cards for me. So the boys went to dinner. This was the picture I got back from them...

they hate that I take photos all the time on vacation.

Bernadette did call and ask how I was feeling and sent food to the room so that I could eat if I started to feel better. She is the BEST!

The boys decided that they would leave a note for Roshan tomorrow and see if he might be able to get them some More M&M's and gummy bears.

Make sure you take bug spray to the island. My son and I were bit MANY times by mosquitoes even after using spray. My oldest and husband didn't get one bite. Crazy bugs!!!

Thanks on the bug spray - we've loaded up on sunscreen but bug spray certainly sounds like a good idea too. Is there a locker or a safe in the cabanas where you can lock up a camera etc, eg when everybody is in the water?

what about sea lice at GSC?-- went to Disney Castaway Cay and there were issues with larvae/lice-- brought some sea safe and we were OK -- were there any issues that you were aware of at GSC ??
