mengcruise Posted June 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2016 We are booked on the splendor for an 8 night cruise. A total of 13 sailing (10 adults/3 kids). All of our reservations are linked together for early seating. Will we automatically seated together? Can we request one large table? Do I need to email the maitre d'? If they split us into 2 tables - will they be next to each other?

All of our reservations are linked together for early seating. Will we automatically seated together? Can we request one large table? Do I need to email the maitre d'? If they split us into 2 tables - will they be next to each other? We have done that 3 times now (once with 13, twice with 14). Twice we were at one long table, and once we were at two tables directly across the aisle from each other. We didn't contact anyone, just had our reservations linked for dining together. sailinglisa Posted June 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2016 I've traveled with groups of 12 - 20+. We always request multiple tables and our TA makes sure we are next to each other. Each table may have a different wait team, but we are next to each other. We just make them aware on the first night that there will be some shuffling among the tables and they are fine with that. The problem with one large table is that one end cannot hear what the other end are talking about. And it is harder for the wait staff to service. In your case, a table for 6 and a table for 8 would be good....next to each other and easier to converse with each other and you can switch it around every night. Rare momin05 Posted June 17, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2016 I have done this for groups of 17 - 33. All you have to do is link your reservation and they will take care of you, seating you together at one table or tables next to each other. No need to do anything else. Cr2zCr8zy Posted June 17, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Did a family reunion cruise back in '13 and we linked several reservations together and they seated us all together at one long table. You should be fine. :D Enjoy your cruise
BroadwayGirl Posted June 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2016 We had a group of 11 on the Splendor and linked our reservations. We were all seated together in the back of the dining room right near the aft windows at a long table. Seemed like this was the large group area as there were quite a number of very long tables to accommodate large groups back there
SATXLady Posted June 17, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2016 We Have a group of 12 on a Christmas Cruise, What is your thoughts on Anytime dining with a group this large? Doable but be prepared to wait a while if you all want to sit together. Cannot pr-arrange. Better luck, less wait, if you choose early when they first open. If you go at prime time, wait longer. Good part is that if someone doesn't want to wait with the group one or more nights, they can choose their own time to show up.
