Prices of Non-alcoholic Drinks Included with CHEERS?

Recommended Posts

If you have pricing info for the non-alcoholic drinks that are included with CHEERS, will you please share? Seems I've mostly only been able to find prices for boozy drinks so far. I know that hubby and I won't come close to drinking 15 alcoholic drinks a day. Maaaaaybe 3-5 each. We're throwing around still getting CHEERS, instead of Bottomless Bubbles as we originally planned, but would like to do some number crunching on the other drinks we may also get with the program to see if it would be a wise choice for our budget.

TIA! :)

We had considered the same thing but I don't see how it would be worth it. I really only drink wine though, and I can bring that. Coffees are about $2 each, soda is $1.95, water is only $4 per (12) pack, energy drinks, etc aren't really that expensive. Even virgin drinks are less than $5 each. My husband drinks beer, so even if he had 5 in a day, that would only be $30. Add three coffees, a couple sodas, and two energy drinks and you are still a little less than the cost of cheers. I don't see us coming even close to breaking even. It's too bad though, I like the idea of having everything included!

It is sad because Princess has a soda plus package that is $8 pp a day that includes these non alcoholic drinks plus soda, hot chocolate and milk shakes.

I tried to talk to John Heald about this but of course the Beards decided to add it to their over priced Cheers program and leave us non drinkers out in the cold again.

I have always wondered why, if one of the drink packages don't work for a particular cruiser, some Cruisers fell dissed or neglected....it's not like you HAVE to get a package....Pay as you go is essentially a package option. I don't get a Cheers package because my DW drinks very little, maybe one umbrella drink during the day, a soda and a glass of wine at night....I did a comparison on our last 5 night Cruise. Cheers would have been $575....Our drink totals came to $380....We chose the best package in the form of pay as you go. Sometimes that option works out the best

The way princess has theirs set up is how I figure Carnival should do theirs for non drinking adults. They could even do $20 a day and sell a ton of them. They are missing out on a lot of income potential there, even if they put a low limit on the specialty drinks to keep costs down.

To assume non drinkers will just cave and pay the high price of cheers to feel all inclusive is just silly. Some might fall for it but most won't and as the program goes on I think less and less will as they realize the real costs. Maybe sooner or later someone will get some money sense and bring in a non alcoholic option.

I'd rather toss $100 on S&S to cover any hot chocolates, water etc anyone will want and know I won't owe a bill at the end of the week that's inclusive enough for me.

If you are actually trying to pre-pay for drinks so as to not have a bill at the end of the cruise, maybe you could buy some Cruise Cash Bar gift cards before going. As I understand it, they are applied to your sail & sign account and can be used to cover any drink purchase, alcoholic or not. That way you could have the anticipated cost of your drinks paid before sailing.

The cards are available in many dollar amounts, and you can buy up to $500 per cabin, I think.

Coffees are 3 or 4. Energy drinks aren't really that expensive?!?!?! WHAT? They sell the rockstars for 4.95 for the little 8oz cans. They're actually almost more expensive than the alcohol lol. I know I had like 10 of them on my cruise tho cause whenever fiance would get coffee I would get one.

There is a distinct difference between "Cruise Cash" and "Cruise Cash Bar":

  • Cruise Cash ($25, $50, $75 and $100) – Can be used for any expenses on the guest's Sail and Sign account. This includes staff gratuities.

  • Cruise Cash Bar ($25, $50, $75 and $100) - Can be used on all bar purchases (alcoholic, non-alcoholic and specialty coffee shops).

If you are going with this option, I suggest you purchase "Cruise Cash" instead of "Cruise Cash Bar" since it can be used for any expenses (including Casino and excursions), not just alcoholic, non-alcoholic and specialty coffee shop charges. That way if you don't use it all for drinks it is applied to other charges. Remember, either option is "non-refundable" so any amount left over after purchases are deducted are lost.

Hot Chocolate is free on Carnival. The machines do vary, there's at least one machine on the lido or buffet the brews it 'perfectly'.
