pre-cruise hotels in Jacksonville

I'm going to be cruising out of Jacksonville and I am in need of some hotel options. My plan is to come 2 days before the cruise to have a day to just hangout in Jacksonville before the cruise. I would like to stay close to attractions, shops, restaurants, and bars that I can walk to, I won't have a car. I also want to know cab service to get to the port. I plan to come down January 26. 2017 and my cruise is January 28. Thanks in advance!

We stayed at the Jacksonville Inn. Very Clean hotel rooms were small but very good price. The staff was great getting us to and from the ship. It is right off the interstate so easy to get to places.

What sort of stuff are you looking to do while in Jax? What sort of bars/restaurants do you like? Are you looking to get a feel for the city, or do you not care if you're eating/drinking at a chain restaurant?
