New to NCL with a couple of questions.

This will be our first cruise on NCL! We are diehard HAL cruisers, however thought we'd try something new especially since this cruise coincides with my birthday. Just a couple of questions....we have booked the Haven Penthouse Courtyard. Does NCL do upsells and if so when? Also is there a charge for room service?

 

Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated!:)

Having booked a Haven Courtyard Penthouse, you're already pretty much at the top of the line as far as cabins. The only upsell from there would be a 2 bedroom or an Owners Suite, or a Deluxe Owners Suite or Villa.

 

It's been our experience that upsells don't usually happen for those already in true suites, but you can certainly call NCL and ask.

 

In all the suites, you can order off any restaurant menu and your butler will deliver and set up the meal. I don't recall that there's a charge, but you will want to tip your butler appropriately either as you go or at the end of the cruise. The butler does not participate in the gratuity pool on the ship.

 

We've never cruised HAL, but we're long time NCL suite cruisers and we've always felt that NCL does the suite life better than any other mid-range cruise line.

Thank you VideoTech! We have always tipped above and beyond whatever service charges that are added and definitely for room service. We just weren't sure if there was a service charge.

Definitely no service charge for room service in the Haven.

I think you'll love the suite on NCL! The service is very, very good, and you won't have room service charges, etc.
