Pride Mini review- just to the points

Recommended Posts

Pride July 10-17th.

Embarkation:No issues. Went smoothly with FTTF. Was dropped off in the front by hotel shuttle. Tipped baggage handlers, checked in and waited in the VIP/Faster to the fun room. Was onboard around 12:30, had a guys burger= delicious, and unpacked.

Room:

Had room # 5234. It is an obstructed balcony room, but it was great for us. Its true what they say about the room being a bit warmer than say an interior or OV room. I think its the fanning of the doors. Was comfortable temp most of the time.

Staff:

WONDERFUL! The Pride has some of the most friendly staff I have encountered on a ship. No complaints!

FTTF:

WORTH IT!

Embarkation was better, we were on first tender to HMC along with the staff, Debarkation was easy. Waited in butterflies lounge after a nice breakfast and it was pretty painless. Loved the designated Guest services number we could call! The only thing that was a little disappointing Is that our luggage was not in room, and in fact it came in pieces throughout the day. The last of the bags arrived around 5 pm. No idea what happened there as they were properly labeled.

Brunch:

OMG.. I have no idea what went wrong here. We went twice and both times the food was not even close to being good. How do you mess up omelets and mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was really just half cooked noodles with milk and some cheese sprinkled on top. Very disappointed because I have been on 5 cruises and the mac n cheese is usually out of this world creamy and cheesey and heavenly. Nope. Not this time. Omelets dry, pancakes overcooked. Very strange.

Main Dining Room:

We had ATD and went to the dining room 3 times. !st time we got a pager and only waited faor about 20 minutes. No big deal. 2nd night we were first in line. Were seated immediately, but then were in the dining room for 2 1/2 hours. Im not even kidding! I have no idea what happened as everyone around us were being served. We missed the show we wanted to see and an event we wanted to attend so we decided that we would try to come later the next time. The next time we came around 9 pm and had no issues with service. The food was just okay all three times we went. We left full and the entrees we ordered were not horrible, but not up to par with what I typically have experienced on a cruise. The American Table Menu is nothing to brag about. The options are sooo limited. I was just not impressed with this new menu in the least. I am sad that this will be the norm on all the ships soon, if not already. Sad, sad, sad.

Other dining options

Blue Iguana was amazing!!! I wish so much that it was open past 2:30. The Guy's Burger Joint was also really good. But it closes at 6 pm. Did not try David's or the Sushi place.

Buffet: Breakfast was fine, lunch was okay but the diner buffet was just ridiculous. It opens at 6 pm- same time guys closes so many nights we would rush up, read the signs of what was going to be served and make a madd dash to Guys. Now some people might love that buffet, but it was only about 4 or 5 choices and most the things served didn't go together. There was always a baked potatoe, but that was usually the only veggie. We were hoping for some mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, broccoli, mac n cheese..... SOMETHING!

Entertainment:

FANTASTIC! Schwartz is awesome!! we went to trivia, dance classes, shows, comedy shows, had 3 deck party. One was an 80's rock and glow concert. We watched movies on lido and played bingo also. Very very fun. This ship was not lacking the Entertainment that many cruises I have been on have been lacking.

Ports

Freeport is just Freeport. We parasailed. As long as you have something planned its fine. Grand Turk was amazing. and Half Moon Cay speaks for itself! No complaints whatsoever on ports.
