southernbreezes Posted August 1, 2016 #26 Share Posted August 1, 2016 The 11 day cruise is what we booked, 05/15/17. We like the Equinox enough that we are on her for a B2B (10 & 11 day but different iteneraries and 5 prior cruises including a Transatlantic ) in February 2017. In Tortola you can take the ship's excursion or book with the local tours to go to White Beach for your "pain killers". Forget the baths - boring! All of the Islands have lots to do and there is plenty of time to plan ahead. Hal 60 Cruises and 70 plus trips to the Caribbean Virgin Gorda and "The Baths" are one of my favorite places. The restaurant at the top of the Baths is great we had lunch some great drinks plus had use of their pool and chairs while we were there. Nice to cool down in the pool after a hot day at the baths. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind Island paradise. There's nowhere like it in the world. To each their own I guess.:D
wallie5446 Posted August 1, 2016 #27 Share Posted August 1, 2016 In 2014 we sailed the old 11 night route, and last Nov the old 10 night. Land locked this Nov, have booked the 10 day southern to the ABC's in Nov 2017! The Equinox is a great S-Class sister and both routes are wonderful. Sorry about not being any help at all! awhcruiser Posted August 10, 2016 #29 Share Posted August 10, 2016 We booked the 10 day. DH loves Grand Cayman and I love Key West and Aruba. We have also never been to Curacao. So win for both of us!
ISABELLA Posted August 11, 2016 #30 Share Posted August 11, 2016 I made easy for myself - both itineraries - B2B in October, 2017.;)
coppermouse Posted September 8, 2016 #31 Share Posted September 8, 2016 We booked the 10 night, May 5th sailing, on Equinox. We've already been to all the ports, most multiple times; however, there is just something we love about Aruba and Curacao. We also still work so the departure days help save 3 vacation days. We are sailing on the Equniox ABC route. It's ben awhile since we been to Aruba and Curacao. What are some good tours to take? Thanks
NorthernOntario Posted January 12, 2017 #32 Share Posted January 12, 2017 We are thinking of booking the 10 day as well. Can anyone take a guess as to what side of the ship would be better to book our room on? Any ideas which way we would be pulling into port? Last cruise we were on, we were on the starboard side and it just wasn't the same as pulling into port and being able to over look everything on the port side. Hope that makes sense..:)
richsea Posted January 12, 2017 #33 Share Posted January 12, 2017 We are thinking of booking the 10 day as well. Can anyone take a guess as to what side of the ship would be better to book our room on? Any ideas which way we would be pulling into port? Last cruise we were on, we were on the starboard side and it just wasn't the same as pulling into port and being able to over look everything on the port side. Hope that makes sense..:) Unfortunately, you never know which way the ship will dock at each port, depending on the other ships in port that day. I'm not sure which itinerary you're looking at, but do know that in Barbados, you never know where the ship will dock, but there's not much to see dockside anyway. St. Martin all ships face the port, as they do in Grenada. In St. Thomas, if you dock at Havensight, starboard faces the port, but portside faces the most beautiful harbor in the Caribbean, IMO, if at Crown Bay (which is where Celebrity docks lately, ships face the port, so it doesn't matter. Hope this helps. Enjoy your cruise! Equinox is beautiful!
flyingv4me Posted January 12, 2017 #34 Share Posted January 12, 2017 My wife and I chose the 10-night because it has the ABC's and nice breaks with sea days. We love our sea days as much as port days! :)
NorthernOntario Posted January 13, 2017 #35 Share Posted January 13, 2017 Thank you for the replies. I was wrong about the itinerary. Because the dates work better we are thinking of doing: Miami, Key West, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Grand Cayman. Any suggestions?
