NHL Philly Fan Posted August 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2016 The CCL web site is HORRIBLE for reviewing what you have paid and your outstanding balance due for upcoming cruises. It has to be one of the most awkward, cumbersome, incomplete, and unclear web sites I have ever used. Where do I look to confirm that my prepaid gratuities have been recorded and documented so that I will not be double charged on my cruise?
SadieN Posted August 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Check here Manage cruise-documents-print documents. Should be at the bottom of the invoice. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Bookbug53 Posted August 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) The first thing I see when I open my cruise manager is the bright blue box with the balance due. For a breakdown I click on print documents. On the booking summary/invoice will be a breakdown of the charges. It will show under optional charges. dacsmom Posted August 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Look under manage my booking, it is all clearly spelled out.
maldenmusic Posted August 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2016 While I agree that overall the CCL website is bad I don't have any problems seeing my payments/balance. I log in and look under manage my cruise.
Kaszdad Posted August 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2016 When you book a cruise you get a cabin confirmation e-mail, it's in the ITEMIZED CHARGES portion of that e-mail if you have prepaid gratuities. Each time you make a payment and/or final payment you get a cabin confirmation e-mail and it's in the ITEMIZED CHARGES portion of the e-mail along with the cruise rate, taxes and fees, how much you have paid and the outstanding balance if any. Check your e-mails. Ken
NHL Philly Fan Posted August 4, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted August 4, 2016 I an on a cruise through my land based casino. The price is extremely low and the numbers under My Billing do not reflect the actual amount I am paying, but rather the normal amount for the cruise. It does say balance pais in full but no where does it say a thing about gratuities nor does it list the bubbles package that one member of my party ordered and paid for. It does show all of our excursions and our FTTF though. I do have copies of all of my bank statements where all payments have been made. I'll just have them with me in case it is screwed up. Our first CCL cruise and I'm not fully comfortable with the fact that I have no way to confirm all payments have been applied correctly and that I feel a need to bring supporting documentation to prove what I have paid. Is the amount for gratuities showing and is it correct? They are not going to break out different amounts to each individual charge. They just apply any payments to the balance. Knowing the total charges and seeing the balance due will tell you how much you paid. If the gratuities are showing under optional I would not worry about it. It is all part of the same balance. If you want to see the actual payments: Go to manage my cruise Click on your booking number (if more than one listed) Click on 'cruise details' to the right Go to the 'My billing' tab. It will show total and any payments applied. Hope this helps.

My last casino cruise the amounts appeared just like yours "paid as agreed" with no details. This isn't the norm, was just odd on this particular cruise and had to do with it being a casino offer. I just bring copies of the documents and since it says the gratuities are "paid as agreed" that's your proof of purchase. When you purchase from the funshops prior to the cruise, they never list those items in your documents because the intent behind the funshops is that these are gifts and they don't want to ruin the surprise if someone buys you a gift. I always bring the receipts that are e-mailed to you when they are ordered so that I have documentation of the purchase. FYI all other businesses show a detail of what I pay, especially in the case where I made different payments specifically for each line item. No where does it say that I have prepaid my gratuities when indeed I have.

Your response was very helpful and provided relevant and useful information. I have printed out copies of the bank statements and receipts. However it would be nice if CCL would have their system set up do that I do not have the need to do this.
mistycruiser Posted August 5, 2016 #13 Share Posted August 5, 2016 You're welcome. I didn't bring bank statements only my cruise documents from Carnival's website that showed "paid as agreed" and like I mentioned earlier the e-mails from the funshops and I had no issues. Have a good cruise. :)

Have a good cruise. :) You can 'bank' on that. Having a good time, cruise or otherwise, is 90% up to you deciding that you are going to have a good time! We will have a blast I can promise you that. We have sailed before but this is our first time on CCL, just wanting to make sure everything is in order so no surprises. Thanks again for the feedback!
