Dalton51 Posted August 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Hey guys/gals! It's not really a question about FTTF. We have used it the pasted 4 cruises. We think it is worth the money. I have checked everyday for the past 3to 4 months. It still isn't open to buy. Or its sold out. Last we done had it over a month ago for the same dates pretty much. I thought I have read on here where people emailed someone at carnival or called them and asked if they could buy it. Can anyone help me out here please? Thanks. NewAddict Posted August 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2016 For our upcoming cruise, before we got lucky and nabbed FTTF, I sent an email to that email address....it was returned to sender, as it's no longer valid. I called, they said "yeah, that email is no longer valid, please stop calling"..or something like that. But yeah, seems they don't do it anymore. First and Ten Posted August 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) FTTF reminds me of the movie "Willy Wonka"....trying to get FTTF is like the craziness looking for the "Golden Ticket" Edited August 4, 2016 by First and Ten
cruizinisthebest Posted August 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Seems this was discussed yesterday on a thread. It's discussed everyday in numerous threads. Seriously. I thought that email was no longer working, because everyone was using it. However the new canned reply just says they will let you know when one becomes available. If I just had to have fttf, I wouldn't rely on being notified. They can open up more or a person could cancel and it get snatched up by others while I'm waiting to be notified. JUST. KEEP. CHECKING. I think that's strange because I've been watching the FTTF for my upcoming cruise and there have been 12 tickets sitting out there for weeks now. I didn't realize it was such a hot ticket. I thought I have read on here where people emailed someone at carnival or called them and asked if they could buy it. Can anyone help me out here please? Thanks. I had my TA call (Bc they won't talk to you otherwise if you didn't book direct) and they told her that they no longer do a "waiting list" and if it shows "Sold Out" on the website there's nothing they can do. They don't have anything to offer if it's sold out. What I can suggest to you is to keep trying. When I booked my cruise for 10/15 it was sold out for months. I always heard they usually have some become available around 60-80 days left...I have 72 days so that's pretty accurate. Recently within the last 2 weeks it's become available about 5 times. BUT, it's only for minutes. I've also only seen it available in the wee morning hours. When I got lucky enough to purchase it, it was around 8AM...Since I've seen it available around 6AM-7AM and one time I seen it around 12AM. Again, it's usually only for a few minutes. So, try early in the mornings. Another thing...I'm on another "site" and we have a message going of everyone who's interested in purchasing it. It someone finds it available we immediately let everyone know and it notifies everyone in the message of it. If you're on another "site" maybe you can suggest doing that as well. I hope this helps. -Tracie

Sugar....I find the FTTF threads some of the most entertaining. You have people to at least claim that "I will not sail without it". People apparently go on in the middle of the night to check for it and get crazed as their sail date gets closer if its sold out. It really may be the single greatest marketing tool Carnival has put together. Its brilliant....they have cruisers hitting their website multiple times, sending emails, venting about it. What does it cost Carnival....they add another que line in the terminal to make people feel like they are "special" and people get to drop their bag off early in their room. For this, Carnival nails every cabin for $60. Its basically has cost them nothing....great job on Carnivals part Edited August 4, 2016 by First and Ten

My husband, bless his heart, is pretty much incapable of being on time for anything. I figure that at least with FTTF even if we are running late to the port I won't have to stand in line too terribly long to check in. And I have several gift cards to add to my S&S account so the not having to stand in line for GS is a benefit. Can you tell I hate lines?

Sugar, don't get me wrong, I have used it....when I was flying into the embark city the same day as my cruise and didn't want to hang out at the airport. Most cases I just show up at port at 1 or 1:30 and its literally like a ghost town. From the time you enter the terminal until you get on board, its literally 10-15 mins. Nobody is there (and this is at multiple ports). The entertaining part for me reading these threads are the certain population of people that seem to get outright crazed over if they don't have it. I read one poster who claims they will cancel their cruise if they don't get FTTF....seriously? Go on an FTTF thread and you get the posts of "OH MY GOSH, I cruise in a month and FTTF is still sold out. Are they going to offer more? Will people cancel and will that opened spots? I have called Carnival, emailed them and I still don't have it. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO IF I DONT HAVE FTTF"....What did these people do before the concept of FTTF? Relax, the buffet will still be there, you room will be ready, the DOTD will still be selling on the Lido deck....chill out :D Edited August 4, 2016 by First and Ten

But I'm kind of laid back when it comes to a lot of things. Like what other people are wearing, or what other people paid, or what and where other people are smoking.... AmberMarie Posted August 4, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 4, 2016 I had no idea they were that difficult to get. We bought ours 2 weeks ago and we sail Monday. We ended up falling for an upsale to a suite when the Upsale Fairy called, so we released the tickets-- so if you're sailing on the Liberty Monday there are two more out there! :P
spiritkat090909 Posted August 4, 2016 #13 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Another thing to consider is that sailings that have a casino promotion on them are less likely to have any FTTF available. Mainly because one of the benefits to the promo is "Premier Check-in", which seems to be just after the FTTF & other preboard benefit people...that means less FTTF space available. I am booked on one of these and do not expect to get that FTTF...which I would purchase for early OFF and luggage delivery, were it to become available. RecoveryDude Posted August 4, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 4, 2016 I am part of the camp that LOVES FTTF. I mean I don't think I could CANCEL a cruise if I didn't get it. . . . . . . . but I would certainly be disappointed that I had to "suffer" without it. Luckily, I have it for all four of my cruises I have booked. After one more cruise besides those, I'll be PLATINUM and will no longer worry about it. They USED to maintain a wait-list for people who want it so they could notify them if any became available (through cancellations, upgrades etc...) BUT the carnival rep I talked to said they quit doing that because it gave people a false sense of hope and they were more disappointed when none ever became available. Now they advise just check every day. Different times of the day. I saw FTTF open and close 3 different times in the last 2 months before our cruise. mrypop Posted August 5, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) We like FTTF for several reasons. Others don't like it, then don't use it. We cruise in late September 2016 and I just got our FTTF about 2 weeks ago. It was sold out when we booked. I checked every day or every other day, usually in the early evening when I got home from work and one day it was available. I snatched it up and when I went back it said sold out again. So don't give up. You just never know. :) Edited August 5, 2016 by mrypop
