shareholder frustration

At 2:45 PM Central time on Friday, September 9th, we booked the Dream sailing two days later out of NOLA. Since it was 3:45 Eastern I called CCL and asked how to provide them proof with it being just 75 minutes before they closed. The young lady asked that I fax it to a different number and that she would monitor that fax machine every 30 minutes.

The fax was sent by 3:15 and posted a few minutes later. This was outstanding service by their customer support team. Kudos to CCL for having employees who care.

BTW, when we went to our room upon boarding (17th CCL cruise) our room steward didn’t know we were coming because his cabin list was printed BEFORE we booked on Friday. He was very concerned that we would be upset or something. Obviously we were not and thought it was pretty funny instead.

During the repeat cruiser party on the last night of the cruise, the CD gave us an award for being the most spontaneous couple. Pretty funny.

We deposited for our upcoming cruise in January! Requested our OBC by fax about a month ago. Had it credited two days later.

RESTRICTIONS

• This offer is good for only one cabin occupied by the shareholder. Only one benefit OBC can be applied to a cabin, even if there are multiple shareholders in the cabin.

• This offer can only be applied to bookings under deposit.

• This offer cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities.

• This offer is combinable with most cruise fares. Some restrictions apply.

• This offer is combinable with most onboard credit offers.

• This offer is non-transferable.

• Applications to receive this benefit must be made no later than 14 days prior to the cruise departure.

Does the line that says "This offer can only be applied to bookings under deposit" mean that if my cruise is paid in full, I won't be eligible for the shareholder credit??!! Or am I interpreting incorrectly?

Any clarification would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I have always faxed in my statement once in the past 10 years it was lost. I always follow up with a phone call to make sure they received it. That is if I do not see it within a few days.

I have booked a cruise 10 days in advance, faxed the info in called to let them know it was faxed got the credit.

You have to make sure the brokerage statement is with 90 days of sailing.

This is a great perk, what bothers me reading on another thread where folks state they are abusing the system and state they are told by Carnival PVP to abuse the system.

I too am Diamond but I also have to follow the rules. FYI you now have to FAX the info in, they no longer accept it by way of email.

i have always emailed mine with no issues. In fact i will in May send it in with all bookings for the next 12 months and they apply to all at once. there only requirement is that they don't want Sailings after April if sending in early. this is because they decide every April if they will continue this program.

I can tell you from first hand experience that you will not get your credit if you wait until you get on the ship. I had the exact same problem last October on the Paradise and was told the same thing. After getting on the ship I went to guest services and had the information showing I had sent everything and was told to bring it to them. After searching for several minutes the customer service person told me she would have to check with a supervisor and get back to me. Needless to say I never heard back and after three trips to customer service I finally gave up, which is probably what they expected to happen. Good luck maybe you will have better luck.

I've got two Jan, 2017 cruises that I've got to apply for the OBC on, but have been waiting as I've had 'em complain that the statement that I send was dated more than 90 days before sailing. Guess I'll go ahead and send them in, and see what happens. I've had problems with them a time or two, but as a "Diamond" guest, I just call the diamond desk, and they have always fixed it. Just another GREAT perk of being "Diamond". ;)

"SKY"

I have heard the same 90 day statement so I am waiting before trying to get my shareholder credit for my January cruise.

I usually send mine in six months or more out and have never had an issue. Usually credited within 1 - 2 days.

Just had an issue faxing.

Faxed at 9:30pmPST/ 12:30amEST. Carnival's fax was not answering.

DH tried again several times yesterday, during business hours. Got several busy signals, finally went thru.
