Can't answer either of your questions. But I wanted to let you know, they have done away with the Social Hostess. They now fill the position of Captain's Club Hostess. Their job is to esure CC members get the benefits they deserve.

Just returned from Mercury cruise on 10/21. The captain is Captain Periklis Petridis. Don't expect to see him around the ship very much. Only saw him at one function during our 8 day cruise. The Captains Club hostess is Melanie Burger from South Africa. Very friendly and cheerful person...used to be a dancer with Celebrity's singers and dancers.
