Civitavecchia To Rome Airport- How Long

Does anyone know how long it will take to get to the airport in Rome from the ship? I need to know so I can make flight times. Thanks for any help.

Just did it. The travel time was app. 1 hour, depending on traffic. Hope this helps.:p

What time did you get to the airport? What means of transportation did you take from the ship to the airport?

We were off the ship by 6:15 am. We had a service scheduled that was due at 7:00 am, but never showed up. We had a large group, but there were only 5 of us flying out that morning. We hired a taxi for 170 euro for the 5 of us. We left the pier app. 7:45 am and were at the airport by 8:50. Our flight was at 11:50 and we did not have any extra time. Customs and check in took awhile. Good luck.

We used driverinrome.com. They were excellent both to and from the ship and very reasonably priced (compared to other services). We arranged it all over the internet.

We used Max Leotta, who was very prompt and we had plenty of time!

Terry is correct about the travel time. While we went to the Sheraton Roma [which is convenient to the airport] the time was one hour, and during that drive passed the airport turnoff.

 

We arranged three transfers with Cristiano of info@romeshuttleliousine.com. One transfer was from FCO to our hotel - for 35 euros for 2 persons, and the driver was right on time waiting for us. It was a Mercedes E class car.

 

Another transfer was from our hotel to the pier for four persons and their luggage - for 145 euros, and again the driver was right on time. This was a mini-van, since the Mercedes E class was not big enough to hold 4 persons luggage.

 

The final transfer was from our hotel to the airport for two persons, and again the driver was right on time.

 

I should add that all of these transfers were arranged by email, and each email received a very prompt response. Because of their performance, we would recommend them.

Is it normal to be able to get off the ship before 7AM?

They base the disembarkation times on flight times. Our sailing had people off the ship as early as 4:30 am.

It's funny the things people will focus on. How in the world did 5 of you get in one cab with cruise luggage? We filled up a Lincoln Town car trunk and front seat when we used a service here at home to/from the airport. And that was for TWO of us! And on another trip, four of us in London filled up a van with luggage trailer. Do you take nothing with you?

Hi Bob. It was really more like a mini van. We did have drivers in taxis say they would be able to fit 5, but there was no way. We all had 2 bags and carry ons. Even with the mini van it was tight.;)
