lilaclabrador Posted August 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Has anyone used the free coach service when on a one way fly cruise? We're embarking at Southampton and flying back from Barbados to Gatwick, which is about 40 mins drive from home. We're considering taking the car to Gatwick and parking there, using the coach to Southampton so the car is at the airport on our return. Any thoughts? dgs1956 Posted August 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2016 We have done exactly what you intend to do. We stayed overnight at a hotel with a parking deal included and got the free bus to Southampton. Absolutely no problem at all.
lilaclabrador Posted August 12, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Thanks dgs1956. Can you remember exactly where you picked the coach up from? And what time it got you to Southampton?

Hi LilacLabrador, I'll be on the same cruise and will be taking the coach from gatwick too. I started a similar thread - here' a reply I received from RobboM We are on this cruise too Mike. In previous years there have been 8-10 coaches leaving from Gatwick for Southampton, and as each coach fills up they leave. Therefore previously it was staggered departures between about 10.30 and 11.00 am, and the coaches departed from the Gatwick South bus & coach stop area. I hope this helps a little! I guess P&O will let us have full details for this year in due course! Rob Regards Mike
dgs1956 Posted August 12, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Thanks dgs1956. Can you remember exactly where you picked the coach up from? And what time it got you to Southampton? Sorry I tend to go into relax mode and I can't remember exactly. It was inside the Terminal near where the taxis arrive. I remember it was a short walk. I remember arriving and just walking into the Cruise Terminal, sitting for 15 minutes and we were onboard. We didn't handle the cases from when they went on the coach. It took about 1hr 30mins to get to Southampton. We were there in time for a walk about and lunch. We live in Nottinghamshire and have got the coach from their several times and find it really relaxing and even better if you meet some travelling companions. Make sure you see your cases being loaded onto the coach. I have seen them left behind at Woodall Services.
lilaclabrador Posted August 12, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Thanks Mike. That's really helpful. And dgs1956, I'm exactly the same! I go into relax mode once I'm packed!
