troubleclef Posted August 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2016 Can anyone confirm that Brazilian Consulates worldwide are on strike so no visas are currently being processed.
Bobocasey Posted August 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Our visas were picked up yesterday from the Brazilian Consulate in Chicago. We received them today via FedEx.
cswhistler Posted August 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2016 We received our passports with the visa last week from the Vancouver office. Difficult to fill in but only took about 5 days to process. We started early as we have another cruise end of Oct and wanted to be ready for the Dec 7 Marina cruise, not to mention getting our passports back! Next we will try the online Argentina reciprocity requirement. Marianne & Dick

I procrastinated because I needed time to digest and come to terms with ALL the personal info required for a Brazilian visa...the december cruise has already been booked...so I'm at their mercy. I've enlisted the aid of CIBT to assist. I've looked at the online Argentina reciprocity requirements and it looks easy compared to the Brazilian visa on-line uploads! Thanks for any and all input. Bobocasey Posted August 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) I am not sure but I think if you are a citizen of the US, Argentina is waiving the reciprocity fees. This is off of the Argentinian website. RECIPROCITY FEE REVOKED FOR US CITIZENS BY PRESIDENTIAL DECREE US citizens are exempt from paying the reciprocity fee by Presidencial Decree No. 959/2016, published on August 23, 2016. The reciprocity fee still applies to Australian and Canadian passport holders.. Edited August 27, 2016 by Bobocasey
