Good for you!! You will be hooked!. Get to the lido deck early for the dive in movie to get a good seat. Try the pay-for menu from room service. If you like wings, they are well worth the 5 or 6 bucks..most importantly have a great time and enjoy yourself.

The best advice I can give you is if you have never been at sea and are not 100% sure you don't have any issue with motion sickness, get some Dramamine. Be sure it is the "Non-Drowsy" and take first dose the day before your Embarkation. Next bring your patience, it is possible you will need them. If you have ever been to an amusement park you will understand. Be ready to have a GREAT time! It really is the best vacation I have ever taken. Can't help you on the Ports of Call. The only advice there is always be aware of your surroundings and get back to the ship early. Just do a search regarding late to the ship and you will understand. I hope you have a great time!

Instead of dramamine I would go with Motion Ease.

If you do a little research beforehand your time will be much more enjoyable. Browse through this site, carnivals FAQ section and a few other cruise related forums to make sure you are prepared. Not everything will be perfect. You will encounter long lines sometimes and your favorite deck chair may get camped on by a noisy family of 6 but if you go with the attitude of you are there for fun then everything will be fine.

Good Advice. I have never had to use either, just knew about Dramamine. :) Had a shipmate who had to wear a patch behind each ear

First, you are going to have a great time! And you found CC so you can find out all kinds of things before you go. Breeze is a fabulous ship; I loved her! Be sure to try lunch at the Italian restaurant---free at lunch time but you have to pay at dinner. And go to dinner in your assigned Main Dining Room each evening. It's fun plus you get waited on, and you can have anything you want.

I would suggest using CC to the fullest. So, you posted this on the Carnival area. Now, look at the top of the CCL page and you'll see where you can click on posts about a specific ship. Just click on the one for Breeze and you'll find tons of info.

Same with your ports. Go to the main forum page, scroll down to the Ports of Call section, and click on the Caribbean folder. I believe all your ports will be listed there. You'll find lots of info on things to do, and not do!, on those threads.

My best advice is just look at this all as a grand adventure, and it will be. HAVE FUN! :D

You can take food out of the Lido restaurant and eat it anywhere. Your sail and sign card will come with a hole pre-punched in the corner. Go to the casino and they will give you a free lanyard that will fit through the hole. You won't need as many clothes as you think. You can wear things twice-who will notice. Research excursions through local companies and you can save a lot of $$ over taking them through Carnival.

Don't overpack. I did so on my first few cruises and always came back saying, "well, I never wore that..."

Don't pack a beach towel. You can get them from your stateroom attendant.

Some thing to pack:

  • Yellow highlighter to highlight activities of interest in daily program
  • Earplugs, just in case
  • Outlet splitter for charging devices
  • Small post-its
  • Aqua socks for rocky beaches (optional, heavy)
  • Cheap plastic bottle opener if you bring wine aboard per ship's policy
  • Some suggest a small mosquito spray bottle with latest Zika concern
  • Breakdown cash into ones and fives before you leave for tipping drivers, taxis, and tour guides

Welcome to cruising...we did the breeze and loved it...here are some suggestions

On ship...eat Italian restaurant at lunch...it's free but dinner is a fee

In main dining room you can order anything you want off the menu and as many as you can eat...also the banana split off the kids menu is a great dessert

Room service is great and there is a free section and a pay section, both are good

In the red frog pub on the promenade they have snacks and desserts that are cheap and really good

If you like comedy get there early as it fills up quickly and there may not be any seats left

Seaside bbq on sea days is on the promenade and it's really good and free

Keep some ones in a drawer for tipping the room service

Bring a 12 pack of your favorite soda and order a 12 pack of water before you get on the boat and it will be in you room when you board

As for the ports...

Cozumel...we have done several things but always end up back at Nachi Cocom, it's an all inclusive beach club that only accepts 100 people and it's 55.00 per person, chaukanab is good for snorkeling and pretty cheap

Jamaica, we did a 30.00 tour from the pier and ate at the pork pit and had the option to drop off at beach or boat..not my favorite port

Grand Cayman, we did native way snorkel and stingrays and starfish beach, we had 2 snorkel stops, swam, fed and kissed stingrays, and waded around in thigh high water and picked up lots of starfish it was around 50.00 per person, but not sure how much it is now. You can Google Native way and find the website.

Hope this helps, just go with an open mind and relax it's all good when your on a boat!!!
