Paradise semi review

Just off the 9/3/16 sailing. Although there were threats of storms we had glorious weather and calm seas. OV cabin was nice especially without the large box in the corner. Putu, the steward did a fabulous job, kept ice in my cooler and was very efficient.

They need a new chef. The lasagna was very off. No one I spoke to liked it. The meat was so minced it was almost pureed. I reqested creme brulee which I received on the last night and it was delicious. They do not have the American Table menu so we had tableclothes and full silverware. I had anytime and they met you once and know your name all over the ship thereafter! The mahi was so overcooked and hard I asked for veal parmagena which wasn't any better. Food on Lido was room temp or tepid at best.

Mongolian Wok was great since it was cooked to order. The girl at the deli was fabulous! No need to ask for double meat as she was generous with portions.

Calvyn, the CD, was a treat. I did comment to him the Motown trivia was better when it disolved right away into just a sing a long but he insisted it be done as trivia which wasn't as much fun. Paper airplanes in the lobby was fun!

Platinum/Diamond party was fun. One hors e'oeurvre was a brisket sandwich which was good.

Jonny Shaw was a great guitarist mostly at the casino bar. There was a trio of 2 violins and a viola in the Atrium and they were spectacular! Steel drums on Lido at least once were nice. DJ mucic still way too loud on Lido.

2 elevators aft by Lido were out of order the entire trip. Not good, especially on debarkation.

Comedians were only fair. In R-rated show the guy went on about fruit and gave a description and said f*** the fruit. Dumb.

I've been to the promo for Epic Rock and it was so loud and I didn't like the music alothough it was really good guitar, I left. Saw parts of the show and it was really good! Thanks to the poster who said I should try again!

Had a great time and met a lot of intersteing people including Sky Master which made my day!

Sailed with you, and as noted it was truly a treat to meet you, as well. ;)

I agree with 99% of what you said. In my opinion, EVERYTHING that they ran through an amp, was WAY TOO LOUD, and especially the shows, and the karaoke. I stayed put to watch "Epic Rock", simply because I was down front in the theater, and the music was good, but the volume was almost unbearable.

I had first seating, and found the food to be pretty good. Nothing stands out as extra good, or extra bad. Service was better than any ship I've sailed lately.

Comedians were just O.K., and if there is anything else going on that you want to do, I'd recommend skipping the comedy club.

Calvyn the CD was strictly average, at best. I guess he tries, but I got the impression that he is WAY too into himself.

We did indeed, have calm seas, and trailing winds. Overall, a VERY GOOD CRUISE.

Welcome back, a few questions for you. Did the ship seem dated ?

How packed was the Platinum/Diamond party?

Did you happen to stay at the port before sailing ?

Not dated. Just needs some beautification on Lido like other Fantasy ships.

The Queen Mary lounge was where the D/P party was and not crowded. Got a drink and snacks right away.

Live 30 minutes from port so I didn't stay at the port.

Lido DJ was WAY too loud. People had to yell to be heard at a table. The talking too loud continued when DJ wasn't there. It was so noisy. Serenity was nice on Grand Cayman day. Wish they had drink service out there.

My son sent me a huge tray of cheese and fruit with a note Clatu barada nikto. I cracked up! Then the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still came on TV! It's really spelled Klaatu barada nikto I found out.

Thanks for your review. Enjoy the Paradise, though as you noted, lots of people in the Lido underdressed...I think it is very much a party atmosphere and quite loud.

Still Serenity is quite nice and excellent service from the entire crew.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise!

How many guest rooms did you say you had in the two story house :D;):D

Captain Candeloro Donato, hotel dir. Caroline Bourke.

One aft elevator out of order the entire trip, a second aft elevator joined the first on the first sea day. Made it tough on disembarkation.

Anytime dining was in Elation DR. You have to enter by the front. It's got that galley in the way thing and several times I got stuck.

Still have to redeem free drink in the MDR at breakfast or brunch. That is so stupid.

Had my version of eggs Benedict in the MDR by asking for toast, canadian bacon (which the waiter didn't know so I said ham), 2 poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on the side. Yummy!

Asparagus vichyssoise was good.

THANKS Brian. We always enjoy our "Tampa" cruises, and especially the outstanding service we receive at Terminal 3.

Can't wait to do it all over again. :D
