Is it worth driving Whittier to Seward?

Our curise will be docking in Whittier, and I think we will be renting a car. Is it worth driving to Seward for the scenic drive and Keai Fjord, or would it be better to do something in Whittier, or to just head into Ancorage (our flight leaves about midnight)?

Take a slow wander to Anchorage - while Seward is wonderful, it's too far out of the way when you only have a few hours. Stop at the Portage Glacier (if you have good weather, the glacier cruise may be the best value for your dollar in Alaska), Big Game Alaska if you want to see more animals, take the tram up the mountain at Girdwood and you still have time to see some of Anchorage and have a final Alaska meal at a place like the Glacier Brewhouse.

I would say it's worth the drive to Seward. Many things to do here, more than one days worth. We've won 3 times "The All America City Award".. that speaks for itself. 1.5 hour drive from Whittier and 2.5 back up to Anchorage...the drive is top 10 most scenic!
