gibbetygibb Posted September 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2016 Hello everyone, My partner and I are on the 14th November Suez Canal Cruise on Celerity Constellation, finishing at Abu Dhabi on 28th. We are then getting a car to Dubai and staying at the Armani hotel in the Burj Khalifa. Naturally, one of the things we want to do is enjoy the view higher up the Burj Khalifa than our hotel room. We are torn between reserving a window table at Atmosphere lounge on level 122 (minimum spend of 250AED per person), or going to the At the Top SKY observation deck on level 148 for 300AED per person. Either way we will be going at approximately 5pm, so we get to enjoy the view in both daylight and sunset. We will be eating dinner at the Armani Amal restaurant later in the evening. The advantage of us going to At.mosphere is that for the same cost as SKY we are getting drinks / snacks, and a refined atmosphere. It also has the entrance from the Armani hotel where we are staying, making everything smoother and easier. The disadvantage is it means we need to get ready for the evening much earlier since you need to be smartly dressed, and it also isn't as high. The advantage of going to SKY is we can say we've been to the highest observation deck in the world, and also we don't need to already be as smartly dressed, so we can come back down to our hotel room after and enjoy the room getting ready for the evening before we go to the restaurant. The disadvantage is we have to get to Dubai Mall and back so lose some time, and also we aren't getting as much food and drink (then again do we need this if we're eating at 8pm ish?). Your thoughts / experiences on either would be much appreciated!!!
lilybob Posted September 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) I always favor going to At.Mosphere either the restaurant or the lounge over going to the outside observation deck or Sky Deck.....and you will be having a drink at the highest bar in the world:D You should be able to gain mall access via Armani, ask a staff member to escort you. You will really like Amal. The food is excellent. If you have an extra night, try Armani Deli and sit on the terrace. Delicious food and great views of the fountain. Take time to see the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque before you leave Abu Dhabi and head to Dubai. You won't be disappointed..... You've really reinforced what I was thinking and made me feel much better. We have two days in Abu Dhabi before we leave the ship so we're doing the mosque as well, even better than you said that :). I picked Amal because of the reviews but we could potentially do the Deli if it has a view over the fountain? I had hoped the Amal restaurant also had a terrace which overlooked the fountain but perhaps I was wrong? Sadly we only have one night at the Armani hotel as we are also staying at the Atlantis on the Palm. Should be a nice contrast though!
red212fire212 Posted September 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2016 We are in Dubai on my Birthday in January and we are doing drinks at At.mosphere v's going to either of the observation decks! One of the main reasons being I have read that the queues for the lifts can be around 45 mins both ways, time I do not care to spend! So for not much more than the price of going to the 124th floor, we can have drinks at the highest bar in the world, in comfort and no queueing! win win in my opinion! I have also read that some people have said the view isn't that different 20 floors higher, tall is tall!!! Enjoy yourself whatever you decide

Armani Deli added their terrace a year or so ago. If you have a chance, have some Arabic food while you are there. Reem al Bawadi has a location close to Armani/BK on Mohammed bin Rashid Blvd. Might be a good breakfast or lunch option. http://www.reemalbawadi.com/ In Dubai Mall, Karam Beirut and Wafi Gourmet are excellent choices. You can even bring home some baklava or Arabic sweets from Wafi as they are packed well for travel....make good gifts for those left behind:)
