snow bunny Posted October 10, 2016 #130 Share Posted October 10, 2016 (edited) They are posted. Thanks again for posting these. There is one day where the hourly page is missing, Day 3. Do you still have it and if so, what was the evening event at Spice H2O? DH and I dance, Latin and ballroom so have I have recorded all of the lessons and evening events so as to not miss anything and to try to figure out dining. I am aware that these may change for our sailing but at least I know what to be on the lookout for! The second night for our sailing is Halloween so I don't know if they will switch up the "formal" night with one of the other themed nights. snow bunny Edited October 10, 2016 by snow bunny
Evangaline Posted October 10, 2016 #131 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Day 2 (sea day) Dinner reservations were at Cagneys tonight. I always go for the NY strip. It was cooked to perfection. Truffle fries were also ordered with it. I would not recommend them. I was expecting a hand cut fry, but it was the same fries used in the cafe. We both had the raspberry crime brûlée, which was out of this world!!!! The only odd thing was the pop music playing in a steakhouse. It could have been worse, but hearing Miley Cyrus while eating a nice meal made me want to pierce my eardrums.QUOTE] Is the horrid pop music just indoors or is it at the outdoor tables as well? Rare PhillyTravelBug Posted October 10, 2016 Author #132 Share Posted October 10, 2016 (edited) ^ I believe it was just indoors. Snow bunny- sorry, I lost a few pages here and there of the dailies. Edited October 10, 2016 by Joeghartman
jmh0603 Posted October 10, 2016 #133 Share Posted October 10, 2016 I was on the same trip as you and love seeing your review. We enjoyed everything as well. We were lucky to be in the Haven and loved every minute of that. I was also on the Getaway a couple years ago and want to try other ships as well. Coastalbreezes Posted October 10, 2016 #138 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Loved your review!! Mainly because DH and I were on the same sailing!! It was great to hear how your experiences were the same/different than ours. I thought about the Thermal Spa passes but we chose Vibe instead and even splurged on a cabana. But if we are fortunate to go again, you have convinced me the Thermal Spa is a must! Thanks for taking the time to write your review! Sounds like you had a fab time as did we! Can you tell me if you got your Vibe pass at Guest Services or at Headliners? Thanks, Tracy
Evangaline Posted October 10, 2016 #139 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Loved your review. We are sailing soon so was taking notes. Just one question. Some others have said they offer a buffet breakfast at the old Flamingo location, now a Margaritaville. Is that still the case?
SeattleSuz Posted October 10, 2016 #140 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Are kids allowed at any of these deck parties? Or do we need to check them into the kids club if we want to attend?

We took the Star to Bermuda in 2012. There weren't nearly as many activities onboard, but I loved the setup of the cafe, casino, and ship overall. Started to save up for the cruise of Norway. tartan cruiser Posted October 16, 2016 #144 Share Posted October 16, 2016 I was wondering if you remember if O'Sheehan's had dinner specials such as prime rib or spare ribs. When we were on Escape in February and Getaway last December every night they had dinner specials from 5:30 -9:30 pm. I didn't see any mentioned of this in the Freestyle you posted. I checked my Escape Freestyle and the special dinner was listed each night. With all the changes recently I was wondering if this was another one to bite the dust. We really enjoyed the prime rib in O'Sheehan's. Trying to plan our specialty dining nights and was hoping O'Sheehan's still served Prime rib on the 1st and last night of the cruise. Thanks
Rare PhillyTravelBug Posted October 16, 2016 Author #145 Share Posted October 16, 2016 We only had lunch or mid-afternoon snacks there, but I don't recall ever seeing a dinner special, especially prime rib. I know we walked through a zillion times and even checked out the dinner menu one nights, but didn't see anything we wanted.

Thanks i was on this sailing as well and was a wee bit disappointed that there were no rib nites, or prime rib nites as there were on the escape in may. Maybe it is only during busy season? I am going on the escape for halloween and hoping it will be on there but will see!!
tartan cruiser Posted October 17, 2016 #148 Share Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) I hope the prime rib and ribs will be in O'Sheehan's on your Halloween cruise but my guess is it's another cut by FDR and team. First the mozzarella sticks, then the chicken strips (grandkids loved these) and now the prime rib and ribs. It probably was removed the same time the lobster disappeared from the specialty restaurants. I bet they don't have them in the buffet anymore either(prime rib and ribs) I'm more than a wee bit disappointed. jeninthecity Posted October 17, 2016 #149 Share Posted October 17, 2016 One thing I want to mention that has caused such great controversy here is...the water!!! I drank it and lived to tell! It is just fine, completely tasteless, and probably better than what comes out of my own faucet. I purchased a brita filtered sports bottle and our steward filled it every night for us. Now I know the water situation is not a big deal at all! LOVE the tip on the brita filter sports bottle....just got off the Escape where I prepurchased 6 bottles of water, which where great to have but way over priced. Heading to the Getaway next....totally going to get one of the brita bottles. Enjoying your review so far....*keep reading* :)
