Boarding at Southampton

How strict are Rccl about boarding times at Southampton, we are travelling with friends in the same car, we are on deck 10 so our boarding time is 11 our friends are on deck 2 and their boarding time is 3.15, will they be allowed on with us at 11.

A similar thing happened to us also we had boarding times about two hours apart but all boarded at the earlier time.

Our boarding time wasn't until 12:30. We were on the ship sitting in the wine bar with a glass of wine before 11:30. We weren't with anyone with an earlier time, either. It seems like they just line up whomever is there and get to work pushing people through the process as best they can.

The people who check you in aren't employed by RCI they work for the terminal company, they just want to get you through as quickly as possible, they don't care about assigned/suggested times.

We were just in Southampton 4 weeks ago, glad we didn't wait for our boarding time.. We arrived several hours early, given a boarding number and on the ship minutes later. No enforcement of boarding times!

Our boarding time was not checked when we arrived earlier. Had no problem.

I usually get to Southampton early as I only live about 20 miles away. I've always boarded the ship quickly, with no adherence to times.

 

I've had the same in Harwich as well. My train got in at about 11am, and I was allowed to board straight away.

Agreed, never had an issue with RC enforcing boarding times in UK. (P&O is the only cruise line I know of that does enforce boarding times in Southampton)
