Is the menu differnt on formal night?

Any difference from the other nights menu wise versus formal night?

They are different every night. On Cruise Elegant night, they usually have lobster or something a little better than what they have on the other nights,but each night is different.

From what I understand the formal night on 5 day Canadian on Sunshine out of NY will be the first sea day. Meaning the day after we embark. So would this not be a good night to have a reservation in a specialty restaurant? We are only booking one specialty and that was the night we were going to book JiJi based on recommendations from others. Also are the steakhouse selections at an upcharge available in the MDR every night?

Your information regarding the "formal" night is likely correct. We have 12 cruises in the last 5 years. The first cruise elegant night has always been the second night.

 

What has changed is Lobster is not offered on 5 day or less cruises as part of the cruise elegant night. It is available on the Steakhouse selections in the MDR but that menu changes slightly each night.
