jgh1204 Posted October 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2016 Just noticed on the Galveston cruise cam that the Breeze is already back. Seems strange that it would arrive so soon. I imagine that means the casino had to shut down and not sure if the cheers program can still be used. Was there some issue?

MemphisGirl81 Posted October 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2016 It was a medical emergency. I just got off the breeze this morning. We got to Galveston around 10:15 last night. It was announced yesterday morning we would be arriving early.

bigman01 Posted October 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 17, 2016 Got off the Breeze this morning. As stated, there was a medical emergency - they announced early yesterday (Sat) afternoon that a passenger needed medical care and that we would be docking in Galveston about 11:30 pm (Breeze normally docks between 6am and 7am). I don't know what the nature of the emergency was, but the cruise director (Mikey) did say that the passenger needed blood while on board, and some of the crew donated blood for him/her. Later that night, Mikey stated that the passenger was stable, and it looked like he/she would be ok after getting the needed medical care, so hopefully that's true. When we arrived in Galveston, there were two ambulances (and a fire truck as well as several police/port security vehicles) that were waiting for the ship. I have no idea if there were actually 2 patients, or the 2nd ambulance was there as backup. As always happens in cases like this, I did hear a couple of rumors about what happened, but I have no idea if either of them is true, so I won't speculate about that. I'm just thankful that, according to the CD, the patient will be ok.
