egh170 Posted November 3, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2005 It SUCKS!! It is in an industrial area. No stores, restaurants, or shops within walking distance. The nearest available restaurant is about 2 miles away. We stayed there in April 05 and your best view is the interstate highway. All that said it is a good hotel but no outside venues around. The hotel restaurant is excellent and the poll area is superb.
TrentS Posted November 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2005 Yeah, it's not a good location for cruisers. It's quite some distance north of the port/airport and there really isn't much to walk to except offices and older homes. You would be best off sticking to the SE 17th Street area, less than 10 minutes from FLL, just outside the entrance to Port Everglades, with dozens of restaurants, shops, grocery, drug & liquor stores, as well as the very popular Water Taxi all within safe, easy walking distance.
