I have both carnival cash gift cards and gift cards purchased at Vons that I have received for my upcoming cruise. If I do not use all the money on them, can I ask for cash back or a credit for a future cruise?

I would suggest just add the Carnival gift cards as needed when your account grows. These can be easily added during the cruise at either guest services or on one of the kiosks on board. If you have any gift cards left over, just save them for your next cruise deposit.

You could make a charge to your sign and sail card in the casino then cash out effectively cashing out your gift cards.

Unused gift card balances are not redeemable for cash... directly.

 

There are methods for "cashing out" in the post(s) above that work just fine with some creativity as long as you are willing to hold your breath while working those one-armed ATMs in the casino.
