firstcruise05 Posted November 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2005 I love the itinerary for this ship but would like to hear some first hand experiences from people who have sailed on her. We have only been on one cruise: RCCL's Mariner of the Seas but had a great time and would like to try it again.
Taffygirl Posted November 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Cruised for the very first time on the SP from S/hampton sept 05.1 week. Fantastic ship, brilliant staff and you can eat the lovely food 24/7. Prices of drinks in the bars were very reasonable. Entertainment was good, two big shows and singers in the other bars/lounges. Swimming pools, hot tubs, daytime activities, excursions and food, food food, there did'nt seem enough time in the day to enjoy it all!!!!! We are about to book the med 2wk cruise for august06. (can't wait)
skybuffalo Posted November 4, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Hello firstcruise, We just sailed on the Sea Princess on their NB New England. The ship and its crew were fantastic. Our previous cruise was on the Navigator of the Seas (the same class as the Mariner of the Seas) so I can maybe give you some ideas of the differences. You will love the ship. While it is smaller in size, the central atrium is well designed. All of the shopping, restaurants, land lounges are centered on several floors around this main area and very easy to access. This is different then the mall type design of the Mariner of the Seas. The balcony room on the Sea Princess will seem smaller then the Mariner. Unless you did the mini-suite, you will not have the couch. There was still plenty of storage for our 10-day cruise and our room steward kept it perfect. We loved the Movie Under the Stars. Keep in mind it was around 37 degrees at the time but it was still fun. My only complaint was it would have been nice to have a covered pool area. We used the sauna pools but it was so cold out that they did not retain their heat. The food was on the same level as RCCL. All of our dinner meals were great but we felt the breakfast selection was lacking. Where you had the Johnny Rockets, the Sea Princess has a great hamburger/hotdog/chicken open air area. If you are doing a Caribbean then you will probably use this one many times. You will not be disappointed. Plan on having a great time. 12Cruise Posted November 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2005 Oooh, thank you so much for all of the lovely details concerning the Sea Princess. We are booked on her for Feb 3rd, 2007. We too just got off the Mariner and although we loved the ship, it was way too large for us. We've been on Large and small and feel we really like the 70K ships the best. Although we know it is going to be small, we did book a balcony, but for 14 days we thought that we'd enjoy that the best. Can't wait!!
