Advice wanted

As you can see we have booked Continental Coasts next May on Discovery 2 :)

Two new ports for us. So any advice on Marseilles and San Remo?

Docked in San Remo last year where we did a trip to Monaco from there, travelled through on coach and looked really nice, some nice looking bars and restaurants ???, to be honest wished we had just gone round there as so disappointed in Monaco.

Hi, Havnt been to San Remo. We visited Mareseilles with the Spirit in September. Thomson put on coaches 5euros each return which took us to the marina. It was lovely. We just walked around the main part. Along the front were, what looked like huge Belfast sinks full of various kinds of fish which the locals were selling (not alive !) There were some enormous tuna.with the heads displayed at the side omg ! ! It was interesting and there were plenty of places for a coffee. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks WCM :)

We have been to Monaco and Nice, so it looks as if we will wander in San Remo. That is actually DH's 80th birthday, so a nice relaxing day sounds good. Also thanks for the tip off about hoho bus. Some are definitely better than others!

Recommendations on fb for Cassis and Aix en Provence. Anyone else visited either of these?

Cassis is lovely Linda. I think we went from Toulon on a half day excursion. It's a very pretty ex fishing village - now touristy but one of the places which we were really pleased we'd been to. Iirc we stopped on the top of the cliffs looking down on Cassis (great views) then the coach stopped at the top of the village then we went down to the Harbour area on a land train. Lots of cafes and individual type boutique type shops. Could recommend this trip.

Linda, if you go onto the PORTS OF CALL section, hit EUROPE then FRANCE PORTS, if you are logged on you can go into SEARCH THIS FORUM and insert each of the names Marseille, Aix, Cassis or wherever else in the area (one at a time) you will find a ton of info coming up in the results for each place. Saves you trawling through all the French Port threads looking for only your ones.

There really is a huge amount of useful info and tips for each which you can read through at your leisure. Pour a cuppa and enjoy! :)

Also don't miss the DESTINATIONS section at the very top of the CC boards. Again, use the drop down for port info on where you are docked, what not to miss etc.

Enjoy
