We just returned from the TP 5/7 cruise and did a 5 day post stay on Moorea at the InterContinental Beachcomber. The best rate we got was directly through their web site. Just couldn't do the OWB for 5 days so opted for a lanai room. Got it for around $180.00US per night incl. taxes. It worked out great because there were 3 couples, we had 3 rooms together on the ground floor so we had our own happy hour(s) each night on our lanais(with booze we bought on the ship.....way cheaper than what you pay on the island!).

And....the last day if you are not doing post stays anywhere, you can come and go off the ship until you are called for your flight. You have to be out of your room by 11:00 AM, but apparently you can use the spa facilities to shower etc. before you leave. I think they either take you to the airport early the same day with your luggage (to store??) and then bring you back to the ship.

If anyone is doing a post stay on Moorea, contact Albert Tours on Moorea for the transfer from the ferry to the hotel. $5.00 each way. He offers really good island tours too!

Hi all,

My wife and I did this cruise last October with no pre or post stay and booked the air thru Princess. We did deviate the air in both directions to avoid OMNI AIR from LA to Tahiti which in hind site was a smart choice based on horror stories we heard from fellow passengers during the cruise. Our deviation going to Tahiti was to fly from Boston to LA the night before the cruise where we booked an overnight at an airport hotel then we flew from LA to Tahiti Friday arriving there early eve and boarding the ship around 7PM.

At the end of the cruise we had to be out of the cabin by late morning. They had a place for us to check all our baggage and we were able to stay on the ship all day. We had to pay cash for any bar drinks. Late afternoon when we were done swimming etc. we showered using the showers in the health spa.

The bus took us to the airport early evening for the 10PM redeye flight back to LA. ONMI AIR passengers had to bus to the airport to ck their bags in the morning, bus back to the ship, then bus back to the airport around the same time as ATN passengersthat evening.

Altho the flights are LONG (especially from the east coast) this cruise well worth it; we plan to do it again soon. Next time we would like to do a few nights pre-cruise in Moorea.
