Dining on 10 day cruise

For a 10 Day cruise (upcoming Mercury Nov 11), how many formal, semi-formal and casual nights will there be? I'm trying to put together my packing list. Also, for men, does semi-formal require a jacket? Or just nice shirt and tie?

Semi includes a jacket. Have noted in the ship's daily for some of our cruises that ties are sometimes optional.
