New Years Eve

Departing on the Sunshine on New Years Eve, and wondering if Carnival ever changes up formal night to match the holiday? If not, have you found that many people dress up anyway?

And I have a second question- are the Christmas decorations still up on a New Years cruise? Doing the 3 day on the Valor 12/29

Glad you posted this question. My wife and I are boarding the Vista out of Miami on NYE and wondering the same thing. A wild guess is on my part no but I will be watching this post closely. Happy cruising.

I would dress formal regardless of what anyone else was wearing! That's how we dress when going out on New Year's Eve.

New Years eve actually fell on formal night last year on the Sunshine. Everyone dressed up. I would go comfortable with all the dancing.Christmas decorations were still up January 1 st at least most of them. They come down little by little

This is St Thomas. Remember the islands also have their decorations up still. This was like December 28,2015.

I was on the Legend and Freedom for NYE, and both times it was formal night and there were still Christmas decorations up. I think they did change the formal night to new years from a different night but not positive.

I'll be on Conquest for new years this year and can't wait!

Did the Conquest for NYE last year. Everyone was dressed and the Christmas decor was still up. They had noisemakers and stuff on the tables in the dining room. They also had a big party on the Lido deck with the big screen showing the ball drop.

 

They also sounded the horn at midnight. We had a blast!! (no pun intended)

 

They close down everything 15 minutes before midnight (including the casino) so the crew can go up to Lido as well.

 

Be prepared as it is VERY crowded but lots of fun...and free champagne!

We are doing a b2b for Christmas and New Years. Boarding for the New Years cruise is on New Years Eve. Do you think they will have elegant night on boarding day? Anyone ever boarded on NYE? I know it is usually the first full sea day. Just curious. Thanks
