Isla ixtapa or las gatas ?

:) Hello fellow cruisers,

another question again, I cant decide between isla ixtapa and las gatas in Ixtapa to go snorkeling, anyone that has been can you give me some info, how far from the pier?

easy access on and off water taxi?

snorkeling safe for beginners?

best place to snorkel from the beach?

is snorkel gear there to rent?

 

we would really like to do this excursion on our own, not through the cruiseline, any info i'd appreciate, since its the only thing we are doing in Ixtapa since we are only there like 5 hours ,,
