Cathy Young Posted November 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2005 I've read about the Red Onion Saloon in Skagway. Is it located in town, and can you walk there from the Cruise Ship?
Yukon Posted November 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2005 It's one of the first buildings you come to as you enter downtown - a few hundred yards from the Broadway dock, further from other docking positions but still an easy walk for most folks. Vol Navy Posted November 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2005 I have heard that they give tours here. Does anyone have any information about that?
thecruisers723 Posted November 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Our ship, Vision of the Seas was probably one of the furthest away from town. It was a good 15 minute walk from the ship to town. They did have a free tram that would take you to the end of the pier which would chop off a few minutes of it. And from there, they had the guys on bicycles with carts on the back of them that will pull you the rest of the way for several dollars a person. We, however, walked the distance both ways and it wasn't bad at all if you don't mind walking. We took a tour of the Red Onion Saloon. It was part of another tour that included many other things. It was informative. But it didn't take very long at all.
