taxis at port everglades

We are joing P & O's Arcadia on 2nd December 2005 at Port Everglades instead of New Orleans! As we do not sail until 3rd we have the whole day in FLL and would like to do our own thing, would we be able to get a taxi at the dock to take us to Las Olas Boulevard and roughly how much would it cost and is there any particular firm recommended, your help would be appreciated.

Taxis will be readily available at both Port Everglades, and along Las Olas Blvd. It's about a 10-15 minute drive to the shopping and dining area along Las Olas and should cost about $15 or so. No particular cab company, they're all the same, same fares, just grab one.

 

If Arcadia is docked at the usual P&O/Princess dock it's not a very long walk to the Marina Marriott hotel where you can grab the Water Taxi to go to Las Olas as well, and get a very nice sightseeing tour along the way. thank you for replying to this post, unfortunately we do not know yet where the Arcadia will be berthed but I suspect it won't be pier 2 as Caribbean Princess will want the berth on Sat am. At least we now know we can do our own thing at FLL.
