Carnival gift cards

I was reading the thread on the Carnival gift cards. In my previous cruises had not used them. Don't really understand how they work. How to you use them on your sign and sail card? Do you use them when checking in? And do you still use a credit card? If your bill is less than the cards do you get a refund? Any information would be appreciated.

Check in w/credit card. After a couple days, when ever you don't have a long line, go to Guest Services. Give them the Gift Cards and they will apply them to your Sign n Sail account. If your bill shows a credit, you will get a check/gift card for the difference about 10 days to 2 weeks later mailed to you. (I've gotten the refund both ways) OR you can check with GS on the last evening and go to casino, use ur sign n sail card to play the slots. Pull credit off Sign n Sail to play, play/pull a few times then cash out. Go to casino cage and cash you ticket out. You'll have to set up an account with your Sign n Sail to use money from your Sign n Sail on the slots but any Casino Worker can help u do that. EASY PEASY! Enjoy.

We checked in with a credit card. Once onboard, we went directly to Guest Services and had them added. It took a matter of minutes, and we were good to go! We haven't had to get a refund, so I cannot address that. However, Volmoma has posted exactly what I've read from other cruisers.

I have always used a CC for my onboard account. Once you board (or shortly after) go to GS and have them apply them. You can also use the kiosk(s) to add them to your account. Both ways are extremely easy.

Cashing out. 1. Put your S&S card in a slot machine and add money from your account. Press cash out...it's that easy. You don't even have to play a single spin. 2. Go to guest services the last night and just ask to cash out your account. They will give you the balance, no questions asked.

I had $1500 in GC last month. Put them all on the account and cashed out as needed. Very easy.
