The next ship shuffle.

I had heard that the Miracle would be coming to Tampa. We really need a 7-day ship here. I also understand that a new pier is in the works so that ships won't have to fit under the Sunshine Skyway which is why only certain ships can sail from Tampa. The Legend used to be here - I loved that ship, but guess it's going to stay in Australia & Alaska.

So, any news for Tampa??

Yes indeed.

YOUR Carnival Paradise shall remain here at Port Tampa Bay as a year long Funship and will be joined by YOUR Carnival Pride in January 2017 for 7-turns before she heads back to Baltimore.

Then in January 2018 we will be joined by YOUR Carnival Miracle as our second year long Funship.

Thanks for the update. I've been on both the Pride & the Miracle, so that's good news. Guess I'll have to wait until 2018 before we have the year-round 7 day cruises. Don't think I'll make any of the seven Pride cruises if she finishes up in February, but maybe she'll be part of another casino offer that I can't turn down (lol).

I would not expect many changes before 2020 aside from the ongoing Liberty/Valor swap, which could be reversed if Liberty is repaired, and then the Splendor/Miracle swap in 2018.

If Horizon goes to Galveston, I could see a ship move from Galveston to Fort Lauderdale. Given that Florida's east coast is the industry's center stage, I would still expect Horizon to head to Fort Lauderdale.

In 2020, I would expect the new LNG ship to head to Miami. Vista gets moved to Port Canaveral and joins Magic in sailing year-round from there. Liberty takes the New York/Norfolk/Charleston routes from Sunshine, which are expanded to cover the entire year. Sunshine goes year-round in Baltimore, and then Pride moves its summer service to Boston while continuing to winter in Tampa.

In 2022, the second LNG ship gets home ported in Miami. Victory moves to Mobile, and then Fantasy moves to Galveston.

So it looks like Galveston will be getting the Vista in 2018 it would have been nice to get the new ship but thats not to be. Your thoughts on 2020 seem to be a smart move in light of the LNG ships but the shuffle looks to be haplening in 2018 atleast in afew ports.

Ships move around so people can sail on different ships' date=' helps keep up revenue as we get bored going on same one over and over.[/quote']

And I am thankful for this. We usually only go out of NOLA and Port Canaveral. By them moving so many ships around we are going on our 9th Carnival cruise with this being our 8th different ship.

Well Carnival is adding another dock in Galveston (per John Heald) so a ship will be sent there, there will be some sort of ship movement with the Horizon coming over in 2 years and it also depends on ship conditions like top speed and the speed needed for the route. The Liberty was just moved for that reason. Personally, I don't think there will be a mass movement. I think some of the older ships might phase out with all the new bigger ships that are being built.

This explains why I was searching for September 2018 and found Vista itineraries out of Galveston. So now Galveston will have the Breeze, the Freedom and the Vista!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Galveston will have the Vista and Freedom for 7 day cruises, and the Valor for 4/5 day cruises. Breeze going to PC, the Magic going to Miami. ...
