christmas on board

This will be our first cruise over Chistmas, on board the Fantasia, in the Gulf...Can any one tell me about cruising over the Festive period on MSC... Do people dress up in Christmas clothes for the meal, will the ship be decorated... etc.. Any help would be reatly appreciated..

Hi there, I was on Fantasia last Christmas, Italy, Greece and the Holy Land.

 

The ship was decorated beautifully. Christmas Eve was a gala night with an extra special menu - I believe Italians celebrate more on Christmas Eve than they do Christmas day?

 

Christmas day lunch was also another special menu, but then back to normal.

 

We took santa hats from the pound shop and our christmas jumpers :)

How was the weather in Italy over Christmas - I see the temps but wondered if it was rainy? We are from Canada so we are used to the cold, but not rain so much. Also, were there things to do Christmas Day?
