jasrub Posted November 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2005 Ok people, what's the best place to get some good tequila and rum? Price is obviously important, but I'm looking for some GOOD stuff.. Jason and Ruby
CozSally Posted November 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2005 There's a very nice selection of both at Cinco Soles. Their main store on the waterfront downtown is already open.
solita Posted November 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2005 I agree with Sally on LCS´s selection of "the good stuff". I, on the other hand, am really looking forward to sitting down to a ice cold beer...when the liquor stores (and grocery stores start reselling) open up on Nov. 14! bruce-r Posted November 8, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2005 Something to know about Cinco Soles is that they accept plastic, no problem. Their prices are plainly marked, so no bargaining either.
kym2 Posted November 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2005 We bought our Tequila at one of the stores on the waterfront. It is called ORENDIAN (not sure about the spelling) and it is VERY good. Not too much of a burn when doing shots also they have a almond flavor that is good too!! I think it was around 9.00 a fifth
Cozumel-Ian Posted November 9, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Urgh... don;t talk to me about tequila, I can still feel the last hangover :o Seriously though, I spoke to Panchito - owner of Los Cinco Soles - a couple of days ago. As Saly says, the seafront store is open as is Panchos Backyard restaurant, at the back of the store. Panchito owns other tourist stores too and told me is expects to have 11 ready to open by Monday, including 4 in the badly damaged Puerta Maya pier... I've updated my website with other news today too... Regards from Cozumel Ian
K8sMom Posted November 10, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 10, 2005 Glad to hear that Pancho's Backyard is open. We will be stopping in Cozumel in December and Pancho's is our favorite place to have lunch and enjoy a couple of Margaritas.
imatarb Posted November 10, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 10, 2005 Us, too! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Pancho's Backyard last year when we were there. We hope to get there again in December when we arrive. :)
