Oosterdam vs Mercury

We're considering a spring Alaska cruise, R/T Seattle. It looks like its between these two ships. We have sailed on Celebrity Summit and loved it, but never on HAL. Any advice would be appreciated.

I found Mercury to be an overrated ship. Poor food, bad coffee, bad customer relations, and in need of a lot of sprucing up. The only thing that I liked about it were the stores on board. One last thing, if you go on her be very careful with the safes, they had some sort of timing device, which could backfire. We had to get ours opened one time, and we nearly missed a tour because of it. I have not been on the Oosterdam, but I like HAL. john
