Rainforest Tubing Harvest Caye NCL

Bump, hoping someone has some info on this? :)

My family and I are going in February, I will post a review afterwards myself

These reviews are posted on the NCL site:

A 20 minute walk, a 20 minute small boat ride, a 60 minute cramped rough bus ride, a 55 minute trip down a river with no current, 20 minutes of Locals trying to sell you stuff you don't need---then repeat the 1st 3 steps. Stay on the ship, take a nap, watch TV---Harvest Caye and the area are a complete dud! I have been to 20 + ports in the Caribbean, this is the WORST.

***********************************

2 hours on a bumpy bus for 30 minutes tubing.

80 minutes on a shuttle boat to the mainland, 2 hours worth of riding a bus that was the roughest ride I've ever had in my life. No food or drinks offered. The forest is not very exotic at all. It doesn't look much different than the forests and river tubing we have here in the south. And they sure don't cost this much or require this much commute time.

All in all this excursion was a complete dud all the way around.

If you look on the NCL website under excursions, sometimes there are reviews of the trips.

Hope this helps.

We were in Harvest Caye last week.

It is beautiful. The pool is gorgeous. The beach is nice (sand rough though). The bars are nice. The splash pad is great.

Does it feel like an authentic Belize experience - no....But can it be a beautiful day on a nice clean island for sun and fun without being bugged to buy stuff and tip people and "come look beautiful lady"...absolutely.

I recommend making this a relaxing, inexpensive day.

But it's only inexpensive if you eat and drink on the ship and then just go to the pool on land, right? anything else on the island costs money!? That's at least what I've been reading...
