Brighton Beach

Has anyone done Brighton Beach lately? We like a quite Beach for swimming and snorkeling. How far of a walk is it and is it safe? And, are there any restroom, services, chairs etc? It looks like you leave the port and go to the left and stay left? Is there a certain area to enter the beach? Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

My wife and I walked to Brighton Beach in Feb 2015. It' s about a 1.5 miles to the main entrance where there are restrooms. Next door there is a small bar and resturant that also rent chairs. You can get on to the beach much sooner though anywhere along road starting maybe 1/4 mile before the bar (can't remember name) Really quiet beach only maybe one other couple from ship and a few locals. Felt safe the whole time. also on the way there and back you go past a rum factory (on the other side of street )that you can tour for a fee. Or you can do what we did and bypass tour ( did tour on another cruise) and have drinks at bar and patio they have attached, just tell guard at gate where you want to go he will tell you how to get there.
