NightRN Posted November 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2005 I just wanted to tell everyone on here "Thanks" for all the help/advice/information you've given me. We recently moved my mother-in-law out here. I still have a lot to learn to help her, but you guys have helped me immensely. With your help, I'm starting to believe that her "dream vacation" might actually be doable.
EileenN Posted November 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Last april we took my 91 year old aunt on her first cruise and she had an awesome time. However, on the first day, she was a little disoriented by the change of pace, place and people. She asked the same questions several times and by day 2 she was fine. At first I feared a mini stroke but there were no other signs. Take it slow..take things in small doses and don't rush her. Reduce noise levels and early bed the first night at sea. It may exhaust her. Try to keep her eating routine as close to normal as possible...tea at bedtime, coffee first thing. etc. We were able to make memories that I will treasure forever. What a pleasure.
